(mostly Tuesdays).
The grade of the event and some other information given by
symbols in the key below. Meetings at Chapter in Market Street, Canton start at 8 pm and are marked with their own
symbol.
From the beginning of June, some evening events will start
again from the National Museum of Wales in Cathays Park. These are marked
simply as "meet Museum".

Cardiff Outdoor
Group meets in a room in Chapter Arts Centre, Market Road, Canton, Cardiff on
Tuesday evenings, especially during the Autumn and Winter. The icon on the
right will indicate a meeting at Chapter. Meetings here start at 8pm. The room
we use varies and is shown on the programme for each event. Media point and the
Boardroom are upstairs. Market Place is in a different building. If in doubt,
please ask at reception.
Please note that during building work
at Chapter there may be a different entrance and we may be in some rooms not
normally used.

Wednesday 4th
|
Celebration Meal -
Come and help Bob celebrate his retirement with a meal at Bayleaf, Llandaff,
Cardiff.
Meet 7.30pm at the Butchers, Llandaff or 8pm at the restaurant.

Tuesday 10th
|
Tongwynlais / Wenallt
Walk - 3 mile walk which includes Greenmeadow wood and the Wenallt.
If you are coming by bus (no. 21 from the City Centre) let Sue know, so she can
wait for you.
Meet on Rhiwbina Hill, opposite the Welsh Water works
and above the bridge over the motorway, at 6.30pm.

Thursday 19th
|
Wenvoe Wander - A 3
mile (approx) gentle amble through the farmland on our doorstep.
Meet 6pm at Museum or 6.30pm at Walston Castle, Wenvoe
(next to Premier Inn).

Thursday 26th
|
Pont-y-Weryn Walk 3
miles. Our first walk over the new bridge at the mouth of the River Ely. We
will be using this to walk right around Cardiff Bay. Drinks at the Terra Nova
after walk.
Rescheduled from 29th June as the bridge was not open then.
Meet 6.30pm at the Norwegian Church.

Friday 3rd
|
Guided Bat Walk at St Fagans
National History Museum, 7.30 - 9.30pm. Tickets £2.50 and must
be booked in advance.

Meet at the museum, Cathays Park, at 7pm or at the main entrance to St Fagans
Museum at 7.30pm. Drinks afterwards at the Plymouth Arms.

Wednesday 8th
|
Eastern Sea Wall Walk
- is a "there and back to see how far it is" walk. This is a much
neglected oasis of maritime calm between Cardiff and Newport. There is usually
a bracing breeze to blow away your urban cobwebs.
Meet at 6.15 pm at the Museum or 6.45pm at the Six Bells pub at Peterstone.

Meal at the Bell Inn, Old
Caerleon. - Come along and enjoy a meal at a traditional Welsh
hostelry, fabulous menu. We may have to choose our meals in advance, depending
on numbers. See menu

A Night at the Opera.

LMRT Talk -
"Longtown Mountain Rescue Team are volunteers on call 24 hours a day, 7
days a week. Callouts can be for any situation where the police think their
specialist expertise is required, this has been as diverse as crashed gliders
to lost school children. Tonight's illustrated talk will cover the various
aspects of their diverse range of work."

Rubbish Talk!
Following COG's involvement in several litter picks in recent years, Jeanie
gives a talk on "Facts and Figures you Never Knew About Litter".

|
Spooky walk - A 3-4
mile linear walk from Lisvane/Thornhill to Caerphilly through the wizard's wood
and the hangman's hill, returning to Cardiff on the train of terror. (Train
details nearer the time)
